1. Who we are

ReadRise is an online reading-practice product for children, used under the supervision of a parent or guardian. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices families have.

2. Information we collect

  • Parent account information: email address, password, and billing details if applicable.
  • Student profile information: first name (or nickname), age or grade range, and reading-phase placement.
  • Learning activity: passages read, questions answered, skill performance, time on task, and streaks.
  • Device and usage data: browser type, device type, IP address, and basic analytics.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate ReadRise, personalize passages and questions to a student's current phase and skill mastery, show parents progress reports, secure the service, and improve our content. We do not sell student personal information, and we do not use student data to target advertising.

4. Children's privacy

ReadRise is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, who provides consent for any child under 13 to use the service. Parents may review, export, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting us at privacy@readrise.app.

5. Data sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run ReadRise (hosting, authentication, analytics), under contracts that require them to protect the data. We may disclose information when required by law.

6. Data retention & security

We keep account and learning data while the account is active and for a reasonable period after to support re-enrollment and required record keeping. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

7. Your choices

Parents can update or delete their account, request a copy of their data, or opt out of non-essential communications at any time by emailing privacy@readrise.app.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email to the parent account.
